Health screening of special children begins

JHANG: The health screening of 1,015 special children/students studying in various public educational institutions across the district started on Tuesday.

Special health screening teams, supervised by DHQ and THQ hospitals, paediatricians, consultant ophthalmologists, dental surgeons, clinical physiologists, speech therapists, audiology therapists, optometric scientists and other health experts, were completing the task. The health teams will provide necessary medication and other services while visiting different educational institutions for special children across the district. On the first day, the DHQ Hospital team organized a health screening camp at Government Special Education School Satellite Town to screen the special children (boys and girls). Dr Umbreen Sarwar supervised the health screening of the special children.

HRCP PROBES VILLAGER’S DEATH IN POLICE CUSTODY: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) investigation team reached the house of a villager allegedly killed in police custody.

They arrived to inquire from the widow about the problems after the sudden death of her husband and the conduct of the district administration and police. The HRCP Assistant Director, along with officials of the district administration and the police, arrived at the village of Lodaymani, located in the jurisdiction of police station Waryamwala. The assistant director met with the widow and five minor children of the deceased Shaukat Abbas, who were living below the poverty line.
