Balochistan minister vows strict action against striking doctors
Minister emphasises no emergency services, including OPDs, will be allowed to close in hospitals
QUETTA: Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Kakar has said that the legitimate demands of doctors and medical staff will be addressed, but no one will be allowed to blackmail the government and that strict action will be taken against doctors and medical staff involved in strikes.
He expressed these views while talking to the media on Friday. The minister emphasised that no emergency services, including OPDs, will be allowed to close in hospitals. The High Court has issued clear orders that doctors and medical staff cannot go on strike.
He added that 72 doctors, who are also students and performing duties while receiving salaries, have been issued notices. Investigations have started into how hospitals were misused in the past, leading to financial losses.
