The geopolitical landscape of South Asia has always been dynamic and complex, with shifting alliances and evolving relationships. The irony of the current situation is indeed striking. Historically, Pakistan and Bangladesh have had a tumultuous relationship, stemming from the violent separation of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) from West Pakistan in 1971.
The war of independence left deep scars. However, in recent years, there has been a noticeable thaw in their relations. Both countries have recognised the importance of economic cooperation and regional stability, leading to a more amicable relationship.
