LHC suspends governor’s decision on UAF appointments
FAISALABAD: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended, until further notice, the implementation of the Punjab governor and chancellor of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad’s (UAF) decision to annul certain appointments.
The court has issued a notice to the chancellor, directing the submission of a para-wise reply by the next hearing scheduled for March 12, 2025.The petitioners, Ali Raza Khan and Sidra Ijaz, represented by lawyers Bilal Hassan Minto and Barrister Muhammad Sarim Israr, argued that their appointments were rescinded without following due process and granting them an opportunity for a personal hearing. The counsel contended that the petitioners’ appointments had been finalized after completing all necessary formalities including approval from the university’s syndicate. They emphasized that the appointments could not be revoked.
