SUKKUR: The Jamaat-e-Islami organised an All Parties Conference (APC) in Sukkur on deteriorated law and order situation on Sunday.

All political, religious, social and civil society groups participating in the “All Parties Conference,” hosted by Jamaat-e-Islami to end unrest, banditry and tribal conflicts, expressed deep concern over the increasing unrest, kidnapping, looting, tribal conflicts and banditry in northern Sindh, considering it a failure of the PPP-led Sindh government, which has been in power for the past 16 years.

“Due to unrest, tribal conflicts and looting, not only has everyone become a victim of insecurity, but business, agriculture and education have been destroyed and Sindh’s culture of peace, love and tolerance is also being destroyed,” they said.

The participants said the development of Sindh, the future of its youth and the prosperity of the people are linked to the peace in the province, adding that Sindh, which is rich in oil, gas, coal and agriculture has become a place of poverty, hunger and misery.

“We believe that Sindh is facing these problems today due to the lack of good governance and the incompetence of the government. Sindh has been thrown into chaos and its resources are being auctioned off,” they said.

They said, “This APC demands crime be eliminated, an indiscriminate operation be carried out against the corrupt regime and its patrons and they should be brought to justice.”

They said tribal conflicts have also become a scourge, causing unrest, adding that strict legislation should be enacted to end tribal conflicts and the government should bind the chiefs of the feuding tribes to take steps for justice.

They further said the PPP government should remove the gangsters who are patronising criminals in its ranks, adding that the provincial advisor’s police squad in Jacobabad was caught smuggling modern weapons to criminals, and the report by the former Shikarpur SSP about the patronage of criminals bear vindication to the fact that without the patronage of established robbers, the scumbag robbers cannot do anything.

“The government should take serious and effective measures to recover the kidnapped girls Fazila Sarki from Thulh and Priya Kumari who was kidnapped from Sangraar Sukkur,” they said.

They added that the killers of journalists Jan Muhammad Mehar, Nasrullah Gadani, Ajay Lalawani and Aziz Memon should be arrested.
