ATC grants bail to 27 accused in Liaquat Bagh rioting case

Court directs all accused to submit bonds of Rs1 lakh each

RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) Friday granted bail to 77 accused, including a parliamentarian, in a case of arson, rioting, violence and interference in the state affairs during the PTI’s protest at Liaquat Bagh.

The court directed all the accused to submit bonds of Rs1 lakh each.

The City Police Station had registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Salar Khan Kakar MPA, Ghulam Sarwar and other accused had filed bail applications with the court through their counsel.

On Thursday, after hearing the arguments of the counsel for the parties, the court granted bail to all the accused.

The court directed them to submit bonds of Rs1 lakh each and ordered that if the accused were not wanted in any other case, they should be released.

The court adjourned the hearing of case number 1560 of Naseerabad police station, case number 1326/24 of Dhamial police station, and case number 3393/24 of Sadiqabad police station until January 15.
