Road construction work inspected
LAHORE:The work on the Chief Minister Punjab programme Sarkain Bahhal Punjab Khushail is underway across the province under the supervision of Secretary Communucation and Works (C&W) Department Sohail Ashraf.
The secretary Communucation and Works is also personally inspecting construction work, and he visited the road construction project from Quaid-i-Azam Interchange Lahore to Wagah Border, including a 13-km long service road.
The field team briefed the secretary on Rs3,282million project. The secretary asked the authorities concerned about the construction of drains for water drainage on both sides of the road.
He also directed Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) officials to immediately resolve the sewage issue before the construction of the service road. The secretary asked relevant officers to ensure the removal of encroachments at Jallo Mor.
Furthermore, following the directives of the Secretary Communucation and Works, Additional Secretary Abdullah Nair visited various districts as part of the Sarakain Bahal Punjab Khushhal Programme and reviewed the restoration and construction of roads in Attock, Fateh Jang, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Kot Momin, and Mandi Bahauddin. He checked the quality and standard of material used in the construction and said the expansion work of the single-lane corridor on GT Road and U-turns in Gujranwala is underway with speed.
