13 die on road in 24 hours

LAHORE:Around 13 people died, whereas 1,356 were injured in 1,261 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 616 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 740 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

PO arrested

Gowalmandi investigation police Wednesday arrested a proclaimed offender (PO). Samer Abbas was wanted by police in two attempted murder cases. He was also wanted by City Kabirwala Police for his involvement in criminal activities. The police recovered stolen mobile phones, cash and illegal weapons from his possession.

Meanwhile, an accused involved in a double murder case, was extradited to Pakistan after two years on the run. The Kala Bagh police had been seeking Rafi Ullah Khan's arrest since the crime occurred. Punjab Police, in collaboration with Interpol, issued a Red Notice to secure his capture. The fugitive was apprehended with the assistance of Saudi Arabian police and subsequently extradited to Pakistan. Last year alone, 104 fugitives involved in serious crimes were arrested and brought back to Pakistan from various countries.
