Cabinet approves changes to capital’s master plan

It was also decided that there would be no claim of RCB in I-12, G-13, G-14 and H-13

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet approved to change the master plan of Islamabad while deciding boundary dispute between Rawalpindi and Islamabad, allowing to include some portions of the federal capital in jurisdictions of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB).

With approval of the federal cabinet, the right of way of Srinagar Highway has been reduced 1200 feet wide right of way of Srinagar Highway in north of H-13 by 400 feet to 800 feet towards the southern plot line of G-13 Mauve Area. The federal cabinet approved a summary of Ministry of Interior in this regard through circulation.

The right of way of 13th Avenue between H-12 and H-13 is 600 feet has now been reduced from 600 to 300 feet in the un-acquired right of way between two sectors.

The current 600 right of way of 14th Avenue between H-13 and H-14 which is 600 feet and right of way of 15th avenue between H-14 and H-15 have been deleted.

A green area has been converted into residential sectors. In four sectors of H-13, H-14, H-15 and H-17, southern half was reserved for institutions while the northern one was set aside for green area and buffer zones which has been converted into residential sectors.

With the cabinet decision, these four sectors of H series would not be part of Islamabad’s Zone 1 and as such would not be acquired. The civic body would apply special regulations for these areas.

It was also decided that there would be no claim of RCB in I-12, G-13, G-14 and H-13.

The RCB would regulate area in the west of Railway Line will be regulated by RCB while the area in the east of the Railway Line will be regulated by CDA.
