PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session on Wednesday was adjourned due to lack of quorum, showing lack of interest on the part of Treasury benches in one of the longest sessions of the provincial assembly.

Chaired by Speaker Babar Salim swati, the proceedings began with the recitation from the Quran. However, an opposition member pointed out the lack of quorum. At that point, only 24 members were present in the House.Once the session resumed, the required number of members for continuing the proceedings was still not met. As a result, the Speaker adjourned the session until January 13 at 2 pm..

It is worth mentioning here that the provincial assembly proceedings was initially scheduled to begin at 2pm on Wednesday, but it was delayed by over four hours. This led to journalists’ in the press gallery boycotting the proceedings.
