Madaris registration: Govt mulling over bringing ordinance
JUIF’s legal adviser, Senator Kamran Murtaza, is also engaged in consultation process

ISLAMABAD: The government is mulling over bringing a new ordinance to find a solution acceptable to all the parties on the issue of registration of religious schools.
Sources say that consultations are underway in the Presidency, Prime Minister’s Office and the Law Ministry regarding the registration of religious schools.
According to government sources, JUIF’s legal adviser, Senator Kamran Murtaza, is also engaged in the consultation process.
Upon completion of the consultation process, the president will issue an ordinance regarding the registration of Madaris.
Sources say the proposal for the new ordinance came up during the prime minister’s meetings with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and President Asif Ali Zardari.
