Ashrafi rejects US, EU statements on country’s internal issues
PUC chairman announces convening of all-party conference next week on issue of interference in internal affairs
ISLAMABAD : Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi rejected the statements of the US and the European Union on the country’s internal issues.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said that there may be political and religious differences, but for Pakistan, everyone is one and Pakistan will not be blackmailed or accept any kind of pressure. PUC chairman also announced convening of an all-party conference next week on the issue of interference in internal affairs.
“ My question to Britain, the European Union, and the US is where was your humanity when innocent people were in jail... Where was your humanity in the case of Aafia Siddiqui, “ he questions. Allama Tahir Ashrafi said that any kind of US sanctions are unacceptable, even during the era of the founder PTI, there were military courts and people were punished. He further said that this is an internal matter of Pakistan and Pakistan is a sovereign country
