MINGORA: A station house officer, who embraced martyrdom while taking action against the alleged drug dealers a day before, was laid to rest on Friday.
Inspector Rahim Khan, the SHO of the Manglawar Police Station, embraced martyrdom while Head Constable Attaullah Shah was injured when a police party came under fire by alleged drug dealers during an action on Thursday.
One drug dealer was killed during the police retaliatory fire while the other fled the scene. The slain drug dealer was identified as Sharif, a resident of Banjot in Manglawar.The funeral prayer for the martyred police official was offered at the Javed Iqbal Shaheed Police Lines. Public representatives and government officials and relatives of the martyred cops attended the funeral.A contingent of police presented a salute to the coffin. The body of the martyred official was dispatched to his native village, Maneptai in Khwazakhela town where it was laid to rest.
