IT event ‘Visio Spark’ organised at CUI, Wah Campus
Islamabad:Over1,000 students from 50 prestigious universities across the country gathered at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Wah Campus recently to participate in the 20th edition of the highly anticipated national IT event titled ‘Visio Spark 2024.’ Organized by CUI’s Department of Computer Science, Department of Electrical Engineering, and Department of Mechanical Engineering, the event featured a series of 17 thrilling competitions in fields ranging from Information Technology to Engineering, a news release said.
With participants showcasing their skills and knowledge, the event reflected the vibrant spirit of innovation and the immense potential of Pakistan’s youth. The opening ceremony was attended among others by Rector of CUI, Prof. Dr Sajid Qamar; Mukhtar Ahmad, Operational Finance Lead at Crescent Bahuman Limited; and Prof. Syed Kamail Tayabi, President of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Science Foundation.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid (T.I.), Director of CUI Wah Campus, acknowledged the hard work and dedication behind the event’s success. He emphasised that Visio Spark was more than just a competition it’s an avenue for students to merge innovation with entrepreneurship.
In his address, CUI Rector Prof. Dr Sajid Qamar lauded the participation of universities from across Pakistan, highlighting the integral role that CUI graduates were playing in both national and international progress through their innovative projects and startups.
He expressed pride in CUI’s commitment to fostering talent that derived not just individual careers, but also contributed to local and global communities. Prof. Syed Kamail Tayabi, President of the ECO Science Foundation, emphasized the critical role of innovation and entrepreneurship in today’s rapidly evolving world. He encouraged students to use opportunities like Visio Spark to transform their ideas into tangible solutions that could benefit society.
