Pakistan stun HK China in squash event
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan got off to a winning start in the World Team Squash Championship as they stunned seeded Hong Kong China 2-1 in Group H match in Hong Kong Monday.
Pakistan’s top player Nasir Iqbal won the decisive match against Chi Him Wong (HKG) in straight games 11-5, 11-5, 11-5 to win it for the country. Earlier, Asem Khan lost his match against Alex Lau with Noor Zaman making it 1-1 for Pakistan.
During the morning session, Pakistan edged out Peru 2-1 with Asem losing his match against top player Diego Elias with Noor and Nasir emerging winners to take the match 2-1. With two wins from two outings, Pakistan are at the top of Group H. Former World Team Champions will play Italy in next match.
