ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court Judge, Nasir Javed Rana, on Friday ordered to arrest Bushra Bibi.
The court upheld the non-bailable arrest warrant for Bushra Bibi, wife of Imran Khan in the £190 million reference case and ordered authorities concerned to present her before the court in the next hearing on December 9. Accountability Judge Nasir Javed Rana presided over the hearing on Friday at Adiala Jail.
During the hearing, Imran Khan was present in the court while Bushra Bibi failed to appear for the proceedings. Additionally, the defendants did not submit their responses under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which requires them to answer questions related to the charges. The court issued a directive for Bushra Bibi’s arrest and ordered to present her at the next hearing at any cost. Subsequently, the hearing was adjourned till Monday, December 9, without further action.
Speaking to media outside the court, Advocate Faisal Chaudhry called on the Chief Justice to take notice of what he described as the ongoing violation of the law and Constitution. He urged immediate action regarding the D-Chowk shooting incident and asked the Chief Justice to address the disrespect of judicial orders. On Thursday, Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand issued an arrest warrant for Bushra Bibi for failing to appear in court on 10 consecutive hearings of the Toshakhana 2 case.
