Rizwan slips, Babar retains spot in ICC T20 rankings
LAHORE: The latest ICC rankings have seen Pakistan’s white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan drop two places in the T20Is.
Rizwan now sits at the 8th position with 704 points, following a lackluster performance in the T20I series against Australia. Former skipper Babar Azam, however, retained his 5th spot with 727 points. No other Pakistan batter is currently in the top 50 T20I rankings.
At the top of the batting rankings, Australia’s Travis Head leads with 855 points, followed by England’s Phil Salt (828) and India’s Tilak Varma (806). Haris Rauf remains Pakistan’s highest-ranked bowler in T20Is at 20th place with 603 points. Shaheen Afridi dropped two spots to 26th with 573 points, while Imad Wasim fell three places to 38th with 535 points.
England’s Adil Rashid maintains the top spot in the T20I bowling rankings with 701 points, trailed by Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga (696) and Australia’s Adam Zampa (693). In ODIs, Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman dropped two spots to 16th with 642 points, and Imam-ul-Haq slipped to 18th with 633 points. Mohammad Rizwan held onto his 24th position with 604 points.
Despite these declines, Babar Azam continues to dominate the ODI batting rankings with 800 points, ahead of India’s Rohit Sharma (765) and Shubman Gill (763). Among ODI bowlers, Haris Rauf held steady at 15th with 605 points. Shaheen Afridi is ranked 2nd with 675 points.
