SHEC to verify degrees of public varsities’ teachers, staff
The Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC) has decided to verify the educational degrees of teachers and employees of all the public universities in the province. SHEC Deputy Director Talib Hussain Magsi has written to the vice chancellors (VCs) of 30 public universities in this regard.
The letter states that during the Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) meeting held on November 13, the PAC chairman had directed the SHEC secretary / principal accounting officer to direct all the VCs to verify the degrees of all their employees, including the faculty and the administrative staff.
Magsi also asked every VC to submit a comprehensive report on the degree verification process to his office within a month so that it can be submitted to the PAC accordingly.
