Islamabad: The German Embassy hosted its annual Christmas Market at a hotel here on Saturday night, bringing the festive spirit of German holiday traditions to life.

The event offered a delightful mix of authentic German food, handcrafted gifts, and cheerful merriment. Visitors savoured a variety of authentic treats, from homemade cakes and cookies to mouth-watering delights, all capturing the essence of a traditional German Christmas. They also browsed unique ornaments and gifts that reflected German craftsmanship.

The lively ambiance, filled with laughter and festive cheer, brought families and friends together, creating lasting memories against the backdrop of the beautifully decorated market. The organisers said the event aimed to promote cultural exchange and share the magic of German Christmas traditions, strengthening the bond between Germany and Pakistan.

German Ambassador Alfred Grannas said that the Christmas bazaar was a way to welcome the merriest time of the year particularly for those far from home. He said the proceeds would be donated to needy families in line with the true spirit of Christmas.

The ambassador visited the stalls, engaging with the vendors and learning about their experiences. German defence attaché Christian Ziese also provided insights into the event's highlights.
