Protesters continue Quetta-Chaman Highway blockade
QUETTA: Hundreds of protesters continued blocking Quetta-Chaman Highway on the third consecutive day Sunday in protest against kidnappings and other heinous crimes being reported in Chaman, Pishin and other areas of the region.
The activists of All Parties Action Committee and Anjuman Tajran set up a protest camp at Kosak Top and blocked the road. As a result, traffic pertaining to Nato supplies, Afghan Transit Trade and routine trade activities between Pakistan and Afghanistan were suspended as hundreds of trucks loaded with goods were left stranded.
Chaman DC Khuda-i-Dad Ahmedzai, DPO Asad Khan and AC Hafiz Qasim reached Kosak Top and held negotiations with the protesters to convince them to clear the road but they denied refused doing so.
The All Parties Action Committee leaders said they would continue the blockade until all abducted people were freed.
