Chinese firm wants to set up mobile phone assembling plant

LAHORE:Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain met Lube Hong, CEO of China’s mobile company in the committee room of the Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT).

Director General PBIT Dr Sohail Ahmed was also present on the occasion. The minister resolved the issue of NOC which was pending for a year for the construction of China’s mobile company’s Industrial Estate in Faisalabad.

CEO Lube Hong said that the company has a mobile assembling unit in Punjab, but the company wants to set up a mobile manufacturing plant in the Industrial Estate, Faisalabad. The company has not been getting NOC to start construction of the plant for the past one year. Chaudhry Shafay Hussain directed Chairman FIEDMC to resolve the issue immediately and directed that no obstacle will be allowed to halt promotion of investment in the province. He directed that the concerned institutions should facilitate investors instead of becoming obstacles in investment. Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that it is my determination to bring new investment in the province to accelerate the process of industrialisation. He asserted that he would not tolerate any obstacle to fulfill Punjab government’s resolve to bring new investment in the province.
