PESHAWAR: A noted trader Ghulam Bilal Javid was on Thursday appointed chairman of the Standing Committee on Law and Order of the Peshawar Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry.
A communication said Ghulam Bilal Javid is a founding member of the Peshawar Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry. After his appointment, he chaired a meeting where he expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the city and the increasing threats faced by the business community in the form of extortion calls. Ghulam Bilal said the current situation had made doing business in Peshawar increasingly difficult, with the business community operating under growing insecurity and fear daily. He pledged to bring these issues to the government and announced to hold regular monthly meetings with senior police officers to help curb crimes.
