SUKKUR: A police cop was killed and another injured when a gang of criminals stormed a police picket near Pano Aqil in district Sukkur.
Reports said that a gang of criminals stormed a police picket set up at Dam Damo Dyke on the bank of the Indus River near Pano Aqil in district Sukkur. The criminals fired rockets at the police picket, in which one cop Arbello Chachar was killed on the spot, while another cop Ali Raza Magsi was critically injured.
Police sources said that the criminals took away with them weapons from the police picket. Sukkur Police reached the site and took the deceased and the injured cop to a hospital. Later, the injured cop was shifted to the CMH hospital. Sukkur DIG Captain (retired) Faisal Abdullah Chachar, Sukkur SSP, Rangers officers and others attended the funeral prayer of the martyred cop at Police Line, Sukkur.
