PPP leader urges PTI to end protest march
Shah says if PTI intends to weaken country, it won’t be tolerated
SUKKUR: Sindh Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Monday said that political parties organise demonstrations to record their protests and urged the PTI to return home as they had already recorded their protest.
“Since PTI has already recorded their protest, they should now return home,” the minister said. Shah further said that if PTI intends to weaken the country, it won’t be tolerated. He said that the PPP supports peaceful protests, but the PTI’s track record is questionable.
He said this while talking to the media during a ceremony of the first OGDCL National Case Writing Competition at IBA University Sukkur. He said that when PTI was in government, their performance was such from 23 by-elections, they lost 19, but were successful in creating false narrative.
Shah said that when the results of the last general elections came and PTI’s numbers were higher, the Pakistan People’s Party supported them and invited them to form a government, but their stubbornness persisted.
He said that if they hadn’t supported the PMLN, Parliament wouldn’t have formed. “The PPP supported the PMLN for the supremacy of Parliament.” On the issue of new canals, he said that Pakistan People’s Party would not tolerate injustice with the people of Sindh as water was their only source of survival.
Shah also paid a rich tribute to the legendary figure Nisar Siddiqui and added that he always felt joy in visiting Sukkur IBA University. He said that the Pakistan People’s Party and the Sindh government always supported Sukkur IBA University. He said that the PPP chairman would visit IBA University soon. “We consider Sukkur IBA as our own and will continue to support it for further improvement,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, Professor Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, Sukkur IBA University, in collaboration with OGDCL, is hosting the National Case Writing Competition.
The primary objective of this competition is to provide a platform for professionals, teachers, and students to showcase their creative skills and research, promoting collaboration between academia and industry to address local issues, he added. Professor Shaikh emphasised that Sukkur IBA University is more than just an institution as it attracts students from all over the country, fostering unity and promoting diversity.
