ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) passed two separate resolutions on Monday, condemning the killing of 45 Ismailis in Karachi and expressing condolences over the loss of precious human lives in the MI-17 helicopter crash in Naltar near Gilgit.
Expressing the strongest-possible condemnation of heinous act of killing of 45 people, including 17 women of Ismaili community, the house demanded that the National Action Plan (NAP) be implemented in letter and spirit. The lower house of parliament alsodemanded that the federal and Sindh governments take all necessary measures to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide the best possible medical facilities to the injured.
In the second resolution, the house conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of ambassadors of Philippines and Norway and wives of Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors in the helicopter crash.The parliamentarians also expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Major Altamash, Major Faisal and Naib Subedar Zakir, the helicopter crew, in the tragic incident.
