Man killed, three hurt as jeep falls off expressway
A man was killed and three others were wounded critically after a jeep crashed through the safety barrier of the Lyari Expressway and plunged down on Monday.
The men were returning home to Gulshan-e-Maymar in the early hours of Monday after a picnic at Hawkesbay when the jeep's tire burst near the Lyari Expressway toll plaza, within the jurisdiction of the Sher Shah police station. The vehicle then broke through the safety barrier, causing it to veer off the expressway.
Police and rescuers transported the casualties to the hospital. The deceased was identified as 21-year-old Ali Ahmed, son of Ashfaq. The injured were identified as Abdul Ahad, 20, Ramzan, 19, and another Ali, 21, all residents of Gulshan-e-Maymar. The jeep was carrying seven men.
