The use of drones has become an important weapon for armies worldwide and the use of drones with sensors for forest management, security, agriculture and civil works has greatly enhanced the efficiency of these sectors. Therefore, many countries are scrambling to train their populations in drone flying and designing. They have created jobs using drones in many government departments. Their armies are training squads of drone fighters. Many have also launched drone technology courses and have also organised drone flying and racing competitions for students and adults to promote drone use.
We should also seize this opportunity to train our next-gen drone flyers by promoting drone racing and precision flying competitions. The government should also ask engineering universities to launch drone construction, repair and design courses. While drone use for border management, forest management, oil and gas exploration, and new road and railway surveys can be launched through private firms to enhance their capabilities.
