LANDIKOTAL: Five police personnel were sacked for their continuous absence from duty during the recent anti-polio vaccination campaign, police officials said on Wednesday.
The dismissed were identified as constables Sher Baz, Ibrahim, Abdullah, Saifur Rehman and Muhammad Farooq.
District Police Officer Rai Mazhar Iqbal said that the action underscored his commitment to maintain discipline and accountability within the police force.
“Negligence and carelessness in the performance of duties are unacceptable in any form. We will take further action against police department employees engaged in illegal activities or those who fail to fulfill their official responsibilities,” he added.
He said that the process of self-accountability within the police department would continue to ensure that all personnel uphold their duties effectively.
“The dismissal highlights our resolve to maintain high standards of conduct among law enforcement officers,” he said, adding, the police department was committed to promoting a culture of responsibility.
