LAHORE : Lorry Adda Police have arrested a five-member fraud gang, comprising both men and women, involved in criminal activities across various districts of Punjab.
The arrested suspects, identified as Zubair, Shah Zaib, Bilal, Asma alias Hanifa, and Asia, were caught with 12 stolen mobile phones, cash looted from innocent citizens, and illegal weapons. According to the police, the gang was notorious for targeting women in busy markets and bazaars, tricking them and swiftly stealing their purses and mobile phones.
Police have registered cases against the suspects and recovered the stolen goods.
Further investigations are ongoing, with authorities stating that the gang had a prior criminal record and had been active in multiple districts across Punjab. The operation is part of Lorry Adda Police’s efforts to crack down on fraudsters and ensure public safety.
Robbery gang arrested
Raiwind City Police have arrested a two-member robbery gang involved in multiple theft incidents with the help of CCTV footage. The suspects, identified as Luqman and Tayyab, were apprehended at Chajju Chowk.
According to police reports, the duo had recently committed a robbery at a leather warehouse. Following the crime, law enforcement traced the suspects through CCTV footage and social media platforms. During the arrest, police recovered stolen mobile phones, cash, and two pistols from the suspects’ possession.
Cases have been registered against both individuals, and further investigation is underway to determine the extent of their involvement in other criminal activities.
Meanwhilem Haloki Police have arrested three members of a robbery and snatching gang who were planning to commit a crime near Khayaban-e-Amin, Ring Road.
Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended the suspects, identified as Zain, Ghulam Abbas, and Salman.
During the arrest, authorities recovered two stolen motorcycles, mobile phones, two pistols, and cash from the suspects' possession. According to police, the gang was involved in multiple robberies and snatching incidents at gunpoint in the Ring Road area and nearby localities.
