Badar Munir remembered
PESHAWAR: The sixteenth death anniversary of the legendary hero of Pashto cinema Badar Munir was observed here the other day.
To mark the occasion, the All Pakistan Badar Munir Federation organized an event at the Archives Hall here, which was attended by a large number of artistes and people from different walks of life.
Speaking on the occasion, Aqal Munir, son of the legendary actor, criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government and founder of the party for ignoring Badar Munir after his death even though the deceased had actively participated in events to seek donations for the establishment of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.
Senior artistes including Aman, Jamil Babar, Naushaba and others also spoke on the occasion. They urged the government to observe the death anniversary of Badar Munir officially every year in Nishtar Hall. The speakers also demanded the government to set up Badar Munir Academy for the promotion of Pashto art in recognition of the services of the great actor.
