The IBA-ICM collaboration would not only help prospect candidates to appear in the certification exams, but also help professionals to attend custom made programme at the IBA for continuous professional development, said the official.

He mentioned that the CEE would be responsible for developing a curriculum, trainings and seminars in collaboration with the ICM, whereas the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) would be in advisory capacity to the whole process.

This collaboration had been made possible because of the continuous efforts of the director of the Centre for Executive Education, IBA, Karachi, Dr Izhar Hussain, and the deputy managing director of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Haroon Askari, he said. The official further said that for the first time in Pakistan, tailor-made trainings would be offered for capital market professionals in the areas of brokerage, mutual funds distribution, insurance and related areas.

He added that trained human resource is a prerequisite for development of capital markets. In this regard, the ICM launched their certification programme, which now had been made mandatory by the SECP.
