LDA, Punjab University hold Milad ceremonies
LAHORE: A grand Mehfil-e-Milad was organised at LDA office under the auspices of LDA Workers' Union here on Thursday.
LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghub Ahmed and LDA DG Tahir Farooq were the guests of honour at the ceremony. Five employees were given Umrah tickets through a draw in the Mehfil-e-Milad. Mian Marghub Ahmed and Tahir Farooq conducted the draw. Tauqeer Usman, Naveed Butt, Altaf Rauf, Zakaullah and Furqan Abbas were among the winners.
The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz M Asad. Abdul Aziz Shaghari, Abid Khayali performed the duties of the stage secretary. The President of Workers' Union Kashif Gujjar, General Secretary Shahid Baqir and Ihtsham Rizvi also present on this occasion.
Additional Director General Headquarters Mujtab Arafat, ADG Housing Awais Mushtaq and other officers participated. Meanwhile, Punjab University Milad Committee also organised Mehfil-e-Milad at Faisal Auditorium here on Thursday in which renowned religious scholar Shahzad Ahmed Bhatti, Chairman Milad Committee Sanaullah Shah, officials and a large number of employees participated.
Naat contest winners rewarded
The top position holders of recently held naat competition were awarded cheques by DG Youth Affairs Punjab Pervez Iqbal at a prize distribution ceremony. It may be noted here that the naat competition was organised under the auspices of Youth Affairs Department Punjab at E-Library and Youth Centre on the eve of 12th Rabi-ul Awwal.
Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum, Librarian Shazia Saqlain and other officials were also present on this occasion. In age group category ‘A’ (15 to 21 years), the first position holder M Annas was awarded a cash prize of Rs15,000 while Rs12,000 and Rs10,000 cash prizes were given to Syeda Fareen Bokhari and Hamid Yaseen for taking 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In age group category ‘B’ (22 to 29 years), the top three positions were shared by Maryam Siddique, Ahmed Hafi and Abdul Qadeer and they were awarded cheques of Rs15,000, Rs12,000 and Rs10,000 respectively.
