Sindh IGP orders making police action against drug mafia more effective
IGP orders specially experienced officers to be appointed to investigate other serious cases, including anti-narcotics
KARACHI: Sindh police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon has directed that keeping in view the present and its requirements, the help of technical methods should also be taken against the network of drug mafias so that the result of police actions against the drug mafias can be felt in the public domain.
The DIGs of West, East and South ranges briefed the participants of a review meeting about the anti-drug measures taken, arrests of absconding suspects and formal and informal inspections of police stations.
The meeting was told that mafias make young and new faces their preferred target for the delivery and sale of drugs, and that the successful use of Talaash App and other resources is being ensured for the arrest of absconding suspects.
IGP Memon said the measures taken so far against the drug mafias are inadequate, which will not only have to be updated and made effective by gradually improving and effective, but the process of action against them will also have to be made faster and extraordinary.
He said that keeping in view the present and its requirements, the help of technical methods should also be taken against the network of drug mafias so that the results of police actions against the drug mafias can be felt in the public domain.
He directed that specially experienced and expert officers should be appointed to investigate other serious cases, including anti-narcotics, while effective case challans should also be presented in the court along with the prosecutor on the basis of solid evidence.
