LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice (CJ) has sought all the record of the Provisional National Identification list from the Punjab government.
A petition against preventing citizens from travelling abroad under the PNI list came up for hearing in the LHC on Tuesday.
Chief Justice Aalia Neelum heard the petition filed by Munir Ahmad and directed the counsel for the Punjab government to present the record within 10 days. The court remarked, “We want to see if there are criminals in the list or only political people.”
The petitioner took the plea that the PNI list does not exist in law. “Names can be placed in the passport control list and ECL,” he added.
