Condolence reference: Late Jamil Marghuz paid rich tributes for services
SWABI: Leaders of various political parties and others at a condolence reference on Monday paid rich tributes to the leader of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) late Mohammad Jamil Marghuz.
Late Jamil, who was a lawyer by profession, politician, and social workers, passed away recently.The reference was held at the residence of Tamraz Khan (Askari House), and it was organized by Swabi Press Club.
The gathering was presided over by senior lawyer, Najeem Khan, and Major (retired) Mohammad Amir was chief guest on the occasion.Among the participants were leaders of all political parties dignitaries, lawyers, journalists, and social figures.
The speakers praised the late Jamil Marghuz for his role in strengthening democracy who continued his struggle even during the rules of the dictators.He was one of the founders of the Swabi Qaumi Mahaz, remained very vocal in the Awami National Party and played a key role in converting the Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao) into QWP.
Apart from that, he contributed to different Urdu dailies. His column ‘Sang Zani’ was very popular.Lauding his services, Muhammad Amir said the late Jamil Marghuz would remain alive in the minds and hearts of the people for his services.
He announced that another reference would soon be arranged in the district to be attended by columnists and journalists.A former minister, Awwal Sher Khan, said late Jamil Marghuz had played a main role in establishing the Swabi Qaumi Mahaz in 1994.
Prof Nooral Amin Yousafzai, who has to his credit several books, said: “Jamil was an institution, an ideology and a good human being.”Najeem Khan advocate narrated how he and the late Jamil Marghuz started the law profession. He appreciated his role in the establishment of the District Bar Association in Swabi.
