IG orders providing quick relief to cops’ families
LAHORE:Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar held a meeting with police employees and their families at the Central Police Office on Friday.
During the meeting, Dr Usman Anwar listened to the requests presented by the police personnel and issued directives for the prompt resolution of their concerns. He instructed the AIG Admin to provide relief to the wife of Shaheed ASI Ehsan Ullah by facilitating her transfer from the Punjab Constabulary to Okara district. He also directed the DIG Welfare to address Constable Imran Bashir’s request from Hafizabad to be declared a ‘Ghazi’.
Additionally, he ordered necessary action on the recruitment application of Ali Hamza, son of Shaheed Head Constable M Rasheed and directed the DIG Establishment to provide relief regarding Sub-Inspector Arshad Mahmood’s request for regularisation of his service. On a case filed in Kasur involving Sub-Inspector M Intizar Hussain, Dr Usman directed the Additional IG Investigation to provide relief on merit.
IG Punjab also issued directives on other administrative, disciplinary, and welfare-related applications, emphasising that the welfare of the police force remains a top priority and all supervisory officers should ensure the swift resolution of these issues.
Additional funds for Ghazi cops treatment
IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has released additional funds to support the treatment of injured (Ghazi) officers from Lahore, Sialkot, and Kasur. According to the details, Constable Zafar Ullah from Sialkot has been granted Rs250,000, Head Constable Muhammad Nadeem from Kasur was provided Rs150,000 and Head Constable Muhammad Yaseen from Lahore received Rs100,000 for his treatment.
IGP directed regional police officers to resubmit the cases of other injured officers for review. He emphasised that ensuring the quick recovery of injured officers is a top priority and full support is being provided to them. He highlighted that Punjab Police proudly serves as a custodian of more than 1,700 Ghazis brave officers who have sacrificed their limbs while performing their duties and in confrontations with criminals.
Meanwhile, IGP highlighted the important role of mosques in promoting societal reform and ensuring peace and justice. In recognition of this, Punjab Police has introduced another commendable initiative in community policing aimed at addressing citizen’s problems. As part of this initiative, senior officers, including RPOs and DPOs, visited local mosques on Friday. After the prayers, they engaged with the public, listened to their problems, grievances and issued immediate orders for their resolution.
60 children united with their families daily
Virtual Center for Child Safety, established under the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) is reuniting an average of more than 60 missing children with their families on a daily basis. In just two months, more than 10,398 child-related cases have been reported, over 8,406 cases resolved, while 202 remain under investigation. Out of the reported cases, FIRs have been lodged in 1,673 instances. Since its inception, the Center has traced and reunited 3,864 missing children with their families. Furthermore, in the past two months alone, the Virtual Centre registered FIRs against 740 individuals involved in sexual abuse and 441 cases of kidnapping.
