QUETTA: Commander Southern Command Lt-Gen Aamir Riaz on Friday said credit went to the Frontier Corps for peace in Balochistan, whose personnel were martyred in the line of duty while fighting the anti-peace elements.
He was addressing a ceremony held to distribute keys of newly-constructed houses among the families of FC martyrs. FC Balochistan IG Maj Gen Sher Afgan and senior officials were also present.
He said the FC played remarkable and important role in restoration of peace, although it lost a number of officials and personnel while fighting terrorism in Balochistan.
He said the FC had also taken stringent measures for continuation of development process and advancement of education in the province.
He said that some foreign elements were involved in hatching conspiracies to create chaos unrest and lawlessness in Balochistan, adding that the security forces in collaboration with Baloch and Pashtun people had jointly been foiling nefarious designs of the enemies of Pakistan.
Lt-Gen Aamir paid rich tributes to the martyrs and added that their families would not be left alone. “The families of FC martyrs will be provided with all available help,” he said while appreciating the FC for constructing new houses. Later, he distributed keys of the newly-constructed houses among the heirs of the martyrs.
