NOWSHERA: A robber riding a bike snatched the purse from a female polio worker in the ASC Colony in the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station and fled the scene on Thursday.
Zainab, a polio vaccinator and wife of Asif Khan, a resident of Badrashi, told the police that she was on polio duty with her colleague Rabia Noreen, wife of Yaseen, in Madina Colony, Nowshera Cantt.
She said that they administered anti-polio drops to children and completed their work around 2:30pm. After finishing the task, she said they relieved the cops escorting them and started heading towards their home from Madina Colony to Badrashi via ASC Colony.
The complainant said that when they reached Block-5 of ASC Colony, a young motorcyclist snatched a purse from her, which contained a new mobile phone worth Rs50,000, Rs700 cash and other documents.The police registered a case and started an investigation.
