Girls outshine boys in HSSC exam
Rawalpindi:The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi has announced the results of the first annual Intermediate examination for 2024. The main ceremony was held at Fatima Jinnah Women University here on Wednesday.
Member of the National Assembly Muhammad Hanif Abbasi participated as the chief guest. Chairman HEC Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Khan and ED IBCC Ghulam Ali Mallah also attended the ceremony as special guests. Members of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab, including Falak Sher Awan, Asma Abbasi, Tahseen Fawad, Riffat Abbasi, Imran Ilyas Chaudhry, Malik Umar Farooq, Chairman Rawalpindi Board Muhammad Adnan Khan, Secretary Rawalpindi Board Asif Hussain, Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan, Director of Colleges Rawalpindi Professor Sher Ahmed Satti, and other education department officials attended the event.
A total of 38,734 female students and 24,557 male students participated in the first annual Intermediate examination. The overall pass percentage stood at 56.75%. The pass percentage for male candidates was 45.87%, while for female candidates, it was 63.65%.
Natasha Rizwan secured the first position overall with 1142 marks. Shahab Fatima and Zahira Fatima jointly secured the overall second position with 1141 marks, while Farah Rashid secured the third overall with 1140 marks.
Medals and awards were given to the students who achieved top positions. Addressing the ceremony, Member of the National Assembly Hanif Abbasi congratulated the students who secured top positions. He stated that according to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz’s vision, the merit policy is being promoted.
The future of our beloved country is tied to today’s successful youth. The board, under the leadership of Adnan Khan, ensured timely results, which is commendable. All modern facilities will be provided to students so they can receive quality education. He emphasized the need for adopting a positive attitude and verifying any news before accepting it. Along with providing healthcare facilities across the city, the education sector will be further developed.
The country’s future is tied to the hard work of the younger generation. Chairman HEC Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, in his address, said that teachers play a crucial role in shaping the character of children. “By illuminating the light of knowledge, you can overcome all the challenge,” he said.
