PESHAWAR: A delegation of the elders from the Shia community on Tuesday met Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and put forth suggestions for maintaining law and order in the province.
Nasir Abbass Sherazi led the delegation of the Majalis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen, said an official handout. The delegation members apprised the CM of the problems faced by Shia community members. The law and order situation in the province and steps being taken by the government to combat terrorism were discussed in details.
He assured of steps for overcoming problems faced by the Shite community. He directed the authorities concerned to fulfill demands made by the delegation according to the prevailing laws. The CM ordered constitution of a committee comprising public representatives for effective liaison among government, administration and locals.
