Hospital building damaged in Waziristan blast

MIRANSHAH: An under-construction building of a hospital was partially damaged when explosives planted by suspected militants exploded with a big bang in Shaheedan village in Shewa tehsil early Wednesday.

Police officials said that the militants had planted explosives in the building of an under- construction hospital in Shaheedan village in Shewa tehsil.

The explosives, they added, went off early in the day, damaging a portion of the under -construction building. No loss of life was reported in the explosion.

The officials said that suspected militants had planted the explosives and then triggered the blast with a remote-controlled device in a bid to destroy the hospital.
