Islamabad: Facing financial difficulties, the University of Punjab has announced that from now on, the students will need to pay a fee of Rs6,000 to obtain their degrees, a significant shift from the previous practice of issuing degrees free of charge. This is the first instance of the university discontinuing the provision of free degrees. The change is aimed at boosting the university's revenue, according to an official.
