Raoof did nothing illegal: Gohar
"His interactions with foreign journalists are entirely legal and routine,” he maintained
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Barrister Gohar Ali Khan Monday said whatever contacts Raoof Hasan had made were normal and he had not done anything illegal being a journalist.
Speaking to the media outside the Election Commission of Pakistan Secretariat here, he explained that Raoof was an educated person who had been writing articles and was in contact with other journalists.
“His interactions with foreign journalists are entirely legal and routine,” he maintained. He said the PTI will participate fully in the municipal elections of Islamabad and sweep the local government elections.
He wanted that the candidates should submit the maximum number of nomination papers for which instructions had been issued. Terming the relief in electricity bills in Punjab insufficient, Gohar said the price of electricity should be permanently reduced for all.
“They are not reducing the electricity prices, relief is being given by diverting the development funds, as they have failed otherwise to provide relief to the public,” he contended. He claimed that the current Punjab leadership had failed to manage the electricity prices effectively.
Commenting on a recent Supreme Court decision concerning the NA constituencies, Gohar expressed disappointment and said, “Unfortunately, our concerns were not heard. Our valid votes were rejected, and there was no previous request for a recount in NA-79. We hope the Election Commission will address our concerns”.
