Bangladesh arrive today
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the Bangladesh men’s cricket team will arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday (today) to commence their preparations for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship fixtures.
The matches are scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi and Karachi from 21-25 August and 30 August-3 September, respectively. The Bangladesh team was originally set to arrive on 17 August in Islamabad but accepted an invitation from the PCB to arrive earlier.
They will be training at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from 14-16 August before heading to Islamabad on 17 August for further practice sessions at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 18-20 August.
Salman Naseer, Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Operating Officer, emphasised the importance of sportsmanship and camaraderie, expressing confidence that the additional training sessions will help the Bangladesh team.
“Sports is not only about winning and losing, it’s also about camaraderie. We are delighted that Bangladesh has taken up our offer of support and look forward to welcoming them with our traditional hospitality,” Naseer said.
Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Executive, thanked the PCB for the opportunity, noting that the extra preparation time will be crucial for the team’s performance in the series. “We thank the Pakistan Cricket Board for giving the Bangladesh cricket team the opportunity to have additional training in Pakistan. This will certainly help the players,” Chowdhury stated.
