KP governor assures support to charity hospital

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday assured his support to the Khyber Eye Foundation in expanding the charity-based services.

He held out the assurance as he visited the hospital in Gulbahar area of the city. The governor had a round of various sections of the hospital and saw the facilities such as the operation theaters, wards, and the treatment being provided there for eye ailments.

Chairman of Khyber Eye Foundation, Adnan Jalil, briefed the governor on the objectives and medical services of the hospital. He was accompanied by other philanthropists who manage the hospital affairs — Khalid Sultan Khwaja, Yawer Naseer, Haji Luqman Shah and others,

The briefing revealed that since its inception in 1998, the hospital had tended to nearly one million patients.Additionally, around 32,000 free pairs of glasses were distributed, and approximately 7,000 surgeries performed so far.

The governor commended the Khyber Eye Foundation for providing free treatment for eye

diseases to the underprivileged.He praised the hospital’s administration and medical staff for their efforts.

Kundi said the institutions providing free medical care to marginalized communities hold a special place in his heart and assured the Khyber Eye Foundation of his full support.

The governor said the organization’s well-organized team and network as evidence of its success. He expressed his willingness to contribute in any way he could to support the institution.He also assured that the federal government and international charitable organizations would provide the necessary facilities for the hospital.
