Woman accused of killing husband
NOWSHERA: A woman allegedly tortured to death her husband in the Kund area in Khairabad on Sunday.
Muhammad Umar, an Afghan national who is currently living in a refugee camp in the Kund area in Khairabad, told the police that he was informed by someone that his brother, Muhammad Ibrahim, had been killed.
He said that when he reached his house he found it locked.
The complainant said that he broke open the locks and entered the house where he found the body of his brother decomposed.
He said that his brother had been severely tortured allegedly by his wife Shakila and subsequently killed. He said the wife of his brother fled the scene after allegedly committing the crime.
Umar informed the police that the couple had estranged relations, which led to the incident.
He said the couple had seven children, including two sons and five daughters.
After registration of the first information report, the police raided a house and arrested the accused along with her children.
The children were handed over to their uncle while the accused woman was produced in the court. The court sent the accused on judicial remand.
