Centre seeks logistic support from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan for law & order
Islamabad police have asked the Federal Ministry of Interior to give top priority to the issue
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has sought logistical support from Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan to maintain law and order in Islamabad.
According to the documents received by “Jang”, it has been stated in a letter from the Ministry of Interior to the Chief and Home Secretaries of the three provinces that after a letter written by the IG Islamabad on 15 July 2024, the three provinces will inform the Federal Ministry of Interior by providing logistical support to the Islamabad police.
According to the documents, the Islamabad police immediately ordered 10,000 long tear gas shells, 5,000 short tear gas shells and 100 tear gas guns from the Punjab police; 10,000 long tear gas shells, 5,000 short tear gas shells and 100 tear gas guns from Sindh, while 7,000 long tear gas shells, 3,000 short tear gas shells and 100 tear gas guns have been requested as loan from Balochistan.
The Islamabad police have told the federal government that they had prepared and sent a case for purchasing long tear gas shells, short tear gas shells and tear gas guns, which is under process. They urgently need logistical support from the provinces to deal with law and order in Islamabad. The Islamabad police have asked the Federal Ministry of Interior to give top priority to the issue.
