LAHORE:The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has launched a crackdown on establishments failing to install the mandated Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (EIMS).

Following directives from PRA Chairman Nauman Yusuf, more than 100 restaurants have been issued show-cause notices for non-compliance. Additionally, the PRA has issued warnings to restaurants that have installed the system but fail to issue receipts. This measure aims to enforce the proper use of the system and prevent potential revenue leakages.

Under the revised regulations, it is now compulsory for restaurants with an annual income of Rs6 million or more to install the EIMS. Previously, this requirement applied only to establishments with an annual income of Rs10 million or more. The Punjab Revenue Authority remains steadfast in its efforts to promote fair business practices and enhance revenue collection through effective monitoring mechanisms.

Environment awareness activity for children

Social Mobilisation wing of the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) has teamed up with "Save the World With Green Pakistan" to launch a creative and engaging plant-based activity designed to foster environmental awareness in children.

This initiative, titled “Let’s Plant for Life and Make a Difference,” combines fun with purpose to encourage a greener future. The activity features a unique blend of education and enjoyment. Children first enjoyed a cake that was designed to look like a real plant pot.

Once the delicious treat was enjoyed, the pot was repurposed as a planting vessel, where each child planted a flower seed. This innovative approach not only makes learning about environmental responsibility fun but also hands-on, providing a memorable experience that reinforces the importance of sustainability.

Nosheen Zaidi, Deputy Director social Mobilization WCLA, said: “The aim of this activity is to instill a sense of environmental stewardship in our younger generation through a playful and engaging method.”

Nosheen said by combining a sweet treat with the joy of planting, we hope to inspire children to take an active role in making our world greener. This initiative represents a delightful way to express gratitude and appreciation for efforts towards environmental conservation, merging enjoyment with meaningful action. The collaboration of WCLA with "Save the World With Green Pakistan" highlights a shared commitment to promoting ecological awareness and fostering a sustainable future for all.
