Bronze-winning Pakistan U18 volleyball team greeted
LAHORE: Pakistan team returned to the country on Monday after clinching the bronze medal at the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship held in Bahrain. The team was warmly welcomed at Islamabad International Airport by officials from the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF).
The young athletes, who defeated Japan in a decisive 3-0 match to secure the third-place position, were lauded for their exceptional performance. Their achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and strategic guidance of the coaching staff led by Head Coach Saeed Ahmed Khan, said a PVF official.
In a meeting with the Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), the team was commended for elevating Pakistan’s standing in international volleyball. The DG PSB emphasised the significance of this achievement and encouraged the players to continue pursuing excellence.
The team also secured Pakistan a spot in the upcoming World Championship, marking a historic moment for the country’s volleyball. The PVF expressed immense pride in the team’s accomplishment and acknowledged the contributions of all involved. “The nation is celebrating this momentous victory as it showcases Pakistan’s potential in international sports. The team’s success is expected to inspire young volleyball players across the country,” said the official.
