PM chairs meeting to review Yaum-e-Istehsal preparations
It was also decided that PM would issue a policy statement on occasion and would strongly condemn illegal and unilateral Indian action
ISLAMABAD: The Yaum-e-Istehsal on August 5 (Monday) will be observed in Pakistan as a special day against the Indian government’s illegal action of repealing the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in 2019 and strong support of the right to freedom of Kashmiris.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday chaired the meeting which decided to hold an event to be jointly attended by the Pakistani and Kashmiri leadership. He is also likely to visit Muzaffarabad on August 5 to express solidarity with Kashmiris. It was also decided that the prime minister would issue a policy statement on the occasion and would strongly condemn the illegal and unilateral Indian action of August 5, 2019. The meeting noted that Pakistani, Kashmiris and the international community have already rejected India’s action.
Federal ministers and senior officials attended the meeting during which the prime minister was briefed on preparations being made for the event.
There will be a special walk and special ceremonies will be held in Islamabad, provincial capitals, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Television channels would broadcast special transmissions on television highlighting the sacrifices of Kashmiris and the atrocities of Indian forces.
